I wonder if the chairs are actually going to Africa. I’m a bit dubious that the price of shipping 40 chairs would be worth it from an economic standpoint, but fuck do I know about shipping 30-40 chairs. Rollie, use your climate science masters degree to calculate whether the environmental impact of shipping 40 chairs to Africa outweighs the benefits of manufacturing new ones in Africa

The school was probably rightfully moving to something different because desks/chairs are terrible for the health of the students, but yeah this is super wasteful and they should have found something better to do with them than landfill them.
