To counterbalance the weight of the suit, a sort of chest rig needed to be made that was comfortable for the wearer and that could be adjusted to fit different body types. Nylon straps fuse amazingly well with hit glue and are actually really strong, so they got used for most things. The wood is pine so it's nice and light, and the PVC pipe makes it easy to insert and support removable pieces!
