What I'm working on - November 2024

Greetings alphas and betas. Just wanted to share some updates/thoughts since I know I've been a little quiet on that front lately.

I just shot my second Dante's Cove video yesterday, which of course will be another Patreon exclusive. I thought season 2 was even funnier and crazier than season 1, so I'm super excited to share it with you! It should be ready in the next couple weeks, and after that there's still one more season to cover.

Two unsuspecting saps get their hands on the creepy antique doll that makes you gay in season 2 of Dante's Cove.

I admit I've been less focused on main channel content in the last month. I've put it on the back burner since the 9-1-1 video luckily has some legs and is still doing well, but also because I told myself I'd take a break afterwards to work on a screenplay I was outlining. Honestly, that part isn't going so well. I'm finding it difficult to truly take time for myself, partly because I often feel like I have to be planning/brainstorming for videos constantly, partly because I've been a little busier lately with the new podcast, and partly because I'm currently looking for a REAL JOB. And it SUCKS. I hate you job hunting I hate you job market I hate you Indeed I hate you employers I hate you emails I hate you 2+ years of experience. Why can't I just get one of those Wattpad protagonist jobs where you walk into a publishing house and they give you a well-paying job reading manuscripts on the spot even though you have no experience or marketable skills beyond being a frumpy but irresistible young woman??

All this to say that I am still working on things, but forgive me if I don't come out with a main channel video for a little while. I'm currently trying to brainstorm a holiday season Lifetime video, but I'm a little stuck. I tried starting a few Lifetime Christmas movies recently and I just felt like they were melting my brain. So boring and homogeneous. My best idea is to cover Lifetime movies that are both holiday-oriented AND thrillers, since I generally find the thrillers much more entertaining than the holiday romcoms. It's a slim genre but they do exist-- the two most relevant titles seem to be It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Murder (2022) and Silent Night Fatal Night (2023). But my problem here is that I'm not sure there are enough of these to fill an entire video. I still have to watch Secrets in the Snow (2020) and Ice Road Killer (2022), and if either of those turn out to be sufficiently holiday-themed then maybe I could make a video out of it. But who knows! Don't be afraid to share suggestions if you have any.

Yes, it's Imogen from Degrassi. Again.

Thanks as always for your support this month and every month!

It's ok if you have to slow down on main channel content while you look for a job; I think for many of us, the weekly recap podcast you've started is enough to tide us over

But have you considered trying to apply to a blogging company, failing to write any blog posts, and submitting your college thesis instead? I've heard you can make up to 10K per month that way

Good luck tackling ennui, your script, and the job market! As for wattpad jobs: check out some temp agencies. Most of the do-nothing office jobs that involve excel, emails, and Word are gated behind temp work

It feels like an especially bad year for job hunting!! I'm in the midst of it as well. Best of luck with the adulting! If only we could be sold to One Direction for a considerable fee. I haven't looked too deeply into the Youtube Discourse on this subject, but I'd be interested in hear your thoughts on the age gap trend in movies with an older woman (Nicole Kidman) and a young man. My opinion went from "oh good for her, I guess" to "hmm this feels a bit icky now." This isn't related to the holiday talk (I second the Christmas horror suggestion!) but it was on my mind recently.

If you don’t find lifetime holiday thrillers, you could always widen the genre to bad christmas themed horror, although that’s a different genre. Although the movie “it’s a wonderful knife” has a lifetime budget/look imo.

nei vilde

that was an intentional oversight as I am omegaphobic 💔 jk I guess I just temporarily forgot that was a category that existed 😭

did you really not mention omegas in your intro…? typical alphacentricism. smh
