Good news, Patrons. I have FINALLY FINISHED ALL SIX SEASONS OF TEEN WOLF. MY SUFFERING IS OVER. Yes, I still have to watch the Paramount+ movie. But I figure I'll write the rest of the video first and get that out of the way last.

So for the next month or two (hopefully sooner rather than later) the final Teen Wolf video is my focus. I've spent all these months dreading it, not knowing if I'd have anything to say, but I started writing the script yesterday and I'm actually kind of breezing through it! Like I've said in my last couple update posts, one of my goals is to make this video more tight and coherent and episodic than the first, so I've written shorter recap/reviews of each season and just finished a section on the relationships in the second half of the show. Not only is it making this one a better video IMO, but working in shorter, less rambly sections is making it easier to work on, I think. Here's a look at my planned sections (So far I've got everything through 'The Relationships' written):

I don't know if this is a controversial Teen Wolf take, but I actually thought season 6B was kind of a return to form. I ended up enjoying it much more than I'd enjoyed the previous few seasons, and that was exactly what I needed. Finishing on a high note made it a lot easier to get through the last few episodes and kind of gave me the pep in my step to get to writing again.
The next section I'm writing is the Sterek section, which I think will be a doozy. I want to first present some explanations (NOT justifications) for why the ship was/is popular despite the moral issues people tend to raise with it, then my big cutting edge theory on why I think the writers set themselves up for failure in regard to this ship, then do some more academic analysis on why ships like these get popular with largely female audiences-- I have a book called The Fan Fiction Studies Reader that I think will provide some helpful resources like Joanna Russ's 'Pornography by Women for Women, With Love' (which though written in 1985 is shockingly prescient to modern fan behavior!), and I recently learned that the Org. for Transformative Works has a fan studies-focused academic journal, so I might have a look through their archive as well. I don't want to make the scope TOO big, which can sometimes make me lose motivation, but I feel like if I'm making a Sterek segment I might as make it THE Sterek segment to end all Sterek segments.
The real good news is that I'm moving pretty fast, so if I can keep this pace up, I could start filming this thing like next week. I have to buy some more wolf shirts! Here are some I'm considering:
(I definitely also want to make my own "Inside of you there are two wolves and they're both boys and they're kissing" shirt for the Sterek section)
