Holiday break, New Year discount, price increase

With the upcoming holidays and the new year, there is a lot to talk about, so we thought we would gather everything you should know about :)
First of all, there will be a 10% New Year discount for all annual memberships! This became kind of a tradition for us, that in every January we hold a discount for annual memberships, so anyone who plans to support and stick with us for the next year can do so and get a whole month for free :) The discount will start on January 1 and will end on January 31.
After more than 8 years on Patreon, with still the same tier prizes, with general living getting more and more expensive, sadly it's inevitable that we too increase our prizes a little. This was a very difficult decision for us, and we didn't take it lightly. We thought a lot about it, and we tried to make the new prices reasonable with the smallest increase possible.
We still have to work out a few things about this, but we'll share more details about this in January, way before the prices increase that will probably happen in February.
With Christmas and New Year, it's inevitable to get sucked into the absolute madness of family visits and such, so we decided to take two weeks off because there's no way we could keep up with work like that… XP The vote winner will be finished, of course, but there will be no comic pages until January 6.
But don't think you'll be left without content during that time, because there are plenty of things we saved for such an occasion ;)

Yes, we don't enjoy this either... We really didn't want to increase the prices, so we put a lot of thought into what extra tier and content we could offer, but there is nothing. At least not yet. And thank you for the advice with the new prices; you have no idea how close you were to the ones we came up with :D I'm really happy about that, because it seems we managed to take a realistic approach with them :)

When I started supporting creators on Patreon in 2019, 5 usd was the entry level pledge for most artists (and $10 being the 2nd tier). That was 5 years ago and for the US, inflation since then has risen prices 19%. I’m sure other parts of the world are similar. Now I see new artists doing things like having $6.50 and $11.50 as tier 1 and 2. The sad reality of the world is that it is more expensive to live each year, and so the price of goods and services must go up. I’m sure you have done your research, and I am not a patreon creator so take my advice with a grain of salt. I would change the “cookie jar” tier to $2/month to help with the patreon fees (I’m pretty sure Patreon themselves recommends this). Next I would change the rest of the tiers by less than $5, so perhaps $8, $13, and $18. I'm just a drunk idiot so if you have a different value in mind, then go for it! To all you patrons, remember $3/month is one coffee from a store - once a month. I know times are tough, so (for Zummeng’s sake) I hope the price increase isn’t too much for some of us patrons, but in the end each person must make the decision that is best for themselves. Zummeng, I will continue to support you and I wish the best for you this holiday season and the New Year.
