I can't wait to see how Nigel reacts to Luna's answer. It looks like it is going to get ugly.

StumpedMoose

I suspect it is empathy and view outside of the self.

Believe it or not, all this you just wrote made me very happy :) I really don't want to add anything to what you said, because most would spoil some of the story, but you see it right: no one is truly right or wrong :) Nigel has every right to be angry, but it completely consumes him and is directed at the wrong person. And we wanted to show that no matter how old Luna is, she's too idealistic for her own good. But again, this will be a long comic, and I don't want to spoil anything :)

Maybe the next page will answer your question ;)

Thanks, I'll fix it :)

I don't know if it's just me, but I think both of them on context are a bit right but they are also a bit off track. Nigel's anger is understandable, since what happened, it is easier to blame the goddess than his parents, since she does not even give him a clear answer of the why and in his eyes Luna's decisions "caused" the chain misfortunes in his life. There wasn't much she could do since she doesn't control the actions of others, and she had the best intentions in explaining to Nigel about his potential and all but... I don't know, maybe she gives too much credit to mortals. Let me explain, she is really old, she has lived a lot but it seems to me that she is still a bit... ignorant, ignorant in the sense of not knowing what it is to be mortal, not having unlimited years of progress, which many times we need to be told things as they are without mystery or keys, not all of us can realize what we have in front of us, we are corruptive, selfish in many ways, greedy, and our fears and frustrations literally sink us, and the years are often not enough because we don't have that much. Luna is not a bad person, she had the best intentions, but mortals, especially a child who was discarded by his parents for not meeting his expectations, cannot live on good intentions, words of support, and a speech from the heart. People need help, she needed to do something, put her foot in the ground and do it. Not everyone can find their way in their own, even if they don't want help, if you care you do something. Believing in the immense potential of people and their immutable qualities is a beautiful feeling and it's true, we mortals have all of that, but perhaps Luna forgets that in our core we are complex and unique among us, her method will not always work for everyone . So remembering what Nigel said as a child, no, Luna is not selfish, it's not that way, she's just very naive with a somewhat utopian vision and tiny bit ignorant. Sorry for writing to much, it just some weird ideas in my head, I really love the comic, and I love the analysis of media. My first language is Spanish so I'm sorry if sound weird.

is it maybe that he was only in it because his parents wanted it? and not him?

Osa Kijenu

You know I kinda get his anger but I also get where the goddess is coming from and also why she can't simply tell him what he lacks, it's a trope for sure but no less true that if he's told what he's lacking it looses impact and meaning for him

rain012497

I know its like, a trope with gods in fantasy to be mysterious and never speak clearly and so on, and honestly the ones to truly blame here are Nigel's parents...but for GOD SAKE, girl, I feel this could have prevented if she spilled the beans earlier. Not just saying "You aren't ready" but saying WHY.

Busterdrag

He never wanted to be a Guardian. He only wanted to please his parents. The moment he was denied they tossed him aside like a used rag. She wanted him to have his own agency, his own ambitions.

DC_OZ

It's not your fault Luna, it's Rhea and Solomon the responsibles of Nigel's anger on you

Wind Might

Can you replace the first "d" in "nedded" with the letter "e", please?

Joseph Purves

True Potential? What does Luna mean? What did she expect from Nigel?

Mr_TTerevel

I feel like Luna's Emotional Plea will not effect the dark type Nigel

Myhairhasamindofitsown

At this point, I really don't think that words can get to Nigel's thick skull since he really despise Luna and the guardians so much.
