You know, I know there's a lot of people who say this whole festival thing is them trying to keep the fire from spreading, but I honestly don't think it makes sense with what we're seeing. I think it's more about the whole of Asakusa wanting to send off people who die in grand fashion. It kinda makes sense from a coping point of view, too. You have someone who's lost, and instead of letting the feelings smolder, you send them off with a bang and then the whole town has to come together to pick up the pieces. Kinda cathartic sort of thing.
