I'm happy to be helping. And I'm really happy to have these to read! :D Such great, evocative metaphors here! Rust... wounds... they really help the story feel even more alive. Really nice to hear Yolanda joking around with Abby. She's always had that slightly playful side to her, hasn't she? I love how we're getting to hear more about other creatures in this world, and how they live, and how they relate to other people. Makes the world feel even bigger, and even more interesting. There's often quite a lot of talk about food in these stories. It reminds me a bit of the books by C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, and Brian Jacques - they would go into quite a bit of detail over the num-nums as well. Maybe it came from living in deprived times, or putting up with wartime rationing! I never thought people would end up feeling so touched by the idea of painting their toes, but, hey, if it makes them happy, so what? :)
