Poll - Mid-term Patreon themes planning
Added 2025-03-20 16:42:30 +0000 UTCHello everyone!
While i'm cooking the new SSO operators (a fresh SitRep will be later today), i want to share and discuss with you the mid-term plan i have in mind. You need not to hurry answering, the end of voting will be on April 30, but i would appreciate the feedback and comments.
Please note that it is essentially THE voting, if i see that majority supports these themes - i will go along with it. Also it does NOT mean that i switch to this "mid-term planning mode" instead of bi/tri-monthly polls.
There is very simple reason for it - i want to have a small vacation this autumn and definitely don't want to either leave you without juicy models or having to try to whip up something really fast. Knowing the plan means better predictability, so i hope you'll support it.
May-June - Female operators
For these, i will split theme into two sub-themes.
One will be Cultural Support Team in Afghanistan, wearing a mix of Afghani clothes and military gear, with non-combat poses. These might be less interesting to some, so i'll keep them to one month, but i like the suggested idea and the fact that i know zero minis on the subject.
Second will be more classic female minis in shooty-assaulty poses, with plate carriers, tactical pants and stuff. Probably no combat shirts and simply t-shirts with scarfs around the neck, but can do combat shirts for couple if you'll prefer them.
July - RU SSO support element
Finishing touch for SSO - sniper, observer, ATGM and air controller as a one-month addendum. I can't squish them into these two releases, but i feel they're relevant and can be interesting and useful.
August-September - Navy SEALs in Iraq
We all know what it is about, we just don't tell ;) I don't even know what to describe, because the name is self-explanatory. We'll all be watching the movie pretty soon i'm sure.
As an alternative to SEALs i can also propose Western Deniables aka "PMC phase 2" aka "Definitely not Tier 1"
For this set i want to focus on more consistent (and overall improved) poses with focus on lower-profile and more slick stuff. Take the "Terminal List" as a reference and you'll get the rough idea. On the weapon department i want to add Scar-L to the list, because why not. Also you can expect G36K (it wasn't featured in previous set which is sad) and usual sexy stuff.
October-November (-December?) - Arabic Freedom Fighters
Both SSO and SEALs need OpFor, so here it goes. They'll be as generic as it can be, with old-fashioned cheap non-armored vests and AKM/G3/G36/RPG-7 and whatnot.

This sounds great - can not argue at all. Agree with the Freedom Figher mix with civ & miliatyr clothing what chargedog said Also personally I would prefer them maybe before the seals - but thats a tiny nitpick. Your female operators sound great and they both sound great. hope to see some classical AKM and AK-74 for the. I also completely agree that I rather have a long term voting plan vs. the monthly/bi-monthly voting which jumps around the themes This new plan now all falls in line cohesive and gives someone backing the patreon a full range for a theater, which is perfect.

2025-03-20 22:46:52 +0000 UTCSeals from the 2006 Battle of Ramadi would be great and work well alongside the previous US Army set but I would lean more toward the US deniables/pmc first, your description sounds good!

2025-03-20 20:32:04 +0000 UTCWhen you do the female operators, I'd like to see a female officer/commander in a casual pose, wearing a full combat uniform. Unarmed except perhaps for a holstered sidearm. Possibly talking on a mobile phone or pointing. She could be the coordinator of the cultural team, plus I need a senior female officer in a number of other scenarios.

2025-03-20 18:01:09 +0000 UTCThat is half of the reason why i like (but also don't) ultra-modern as a sculptor. Everyone looks the same ๐ Give SSO guy an AR15 and he'll be as plausible for modern SSO as for US SF

2025-03-20 17:08:33 +0000 UTCI'll just ad that the SSO models are so close in appearance to US Rangers/Delta/Something NATO SOF that a "simple" change of armaments would be enough... Obviously the PC's and helmets are slightly different, but it honestly be difficult to spot on the table... Just saying! ๐

2025-03-20 17:04:25 +0000 UTCI'd go for the western deniables over SEALs, but otherwise sounds great

2025-03-20 17:03:48 +0000 UTCLove all the theme really. Awesome news for the CST! Really looking forward to all of these! Slight preference for the terminal list over the seals, but I would still love to have the seals maybe after the mena bad guys next year ? Really cool to see the roadmap ahead!

2025-03-20 17:02:15 +0000 UTCI'd also add for the Freedom Fighters, a combination of civilian and military clothing (rather than the old school tshirt, chest rig and AK that everyone released back in the 2010s) would be a good starting point for a wider variety of forces and eras in the region.

2025-03-20 16:58:13 +0000 UTCI'm sure I've said in the past that I'd rather a long term plan for the sets that make sense for you as a range creator (with community feedback to nail down specific details) rather than the haphazard voting every two months from a set of options bounce around with the selection. The options for the months all make sense to me, providing complete and complimentary sets.
