CombatOctopus News - the branches of Combat Octopods
Added 2022-11-19 07:34:53 +0000 UTCHello everyone!
While I've been working with Octopods release, I've got a sudden realization, that keeping Octopods in current state of "even I don't know what they are" is not that good after all, so I've spent some time to make a spreadsheet which would explain now i see them in future.
In a very short - there will be one non-combat Command division (HQ) and eight distinctive branches/divisions with different weapons, gear and overall "theme".
In long- you can watch it here in details https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Tje5o2sIw8lKpztoAxZy-ml4GYdsKuGsJHRpbiRg5mM/edit?usp=sharing
Overall - i hope in the future there will be more, MORE Octopods releases ;)
If you will have any suggestions or ideas - please share them.
Also to predict some questions -
1. Yes, they will not have a distinctive MENA or African branches as i don't see how they could establish whole infrastructure there (with training, ties to business etc), instead they just deploy whatever troops needed.
2. Yes, they will use a lot of Russian equipment, halfway because it is super distinctive and would create a really diverse force instead of "100 releases with Crye Multicam and plate carriers" which i find boring.

I respect the shit out of it. My fake military group is called "Plausible Deniability Consulting" and has 4 branches. Asset protection, Embedded training, High risk recovery, and Civilian Outreach. They ALSO do "wetwork" missions, anonymous intimidation raids, and theft on a governmental scale, but that's just rumors...
