September theme poll

Hello, my dear Patrons!

It is already August, and It means that it is time to think about - what should I make for September!

All my polls will be held in a bit complicated, but more fair way to my opinion: Initial poll will have 5 subjects and if none of them will reach 50%+1vote, I will make second round with only two post popular choices. A bit like during elections, yeah.

In this month I’ve prepared several options for you:

1. Russian Recon team (summer) c.2000

Team, dressed in iconic KLMK masking suits and SMERSH webbings and carrying array of weapons. These will be perfect for 2nd Chechen war, Russo-Georgian war of 2008, conflict in Ukraine and a hundred more applications, because both KLMR and SMERSH are still produced and used.

For Corporal it will be classic range of AKs, PKMs and SVDs.

For Sergeant, I will add some more iconic Spetsnaz like Vintorez/Val and VSK-94/A-91

2. British unit in Afghanistan c.2005

This one is tricky since I’ve never tried to research a British troops, but why not? I’ve always wanted to try to sculpt some guys with bullpup rifles after all.

For Corporal it will be SA80 in rifle and LSW forms + some support weapon from Sergeant tier.

For Sergeant, I will add L7A2 and Javelin (plus maybe something more if I have time).

3. 1980s US Cops with shotguns and assault rifles

This one is easier – as I’ve already sculpted several Cops for my 1980s range and have base meshes, I guess I’ll handle 6 miniatures without much issues.

For Corporal it will be Mossberg 500 Cruiser and M16A2.

For Sergeant, I will add extra poses or something else as requested.

4. JSDF/German reinforcements

In case four models weren’t enough – why not continue?

Can’t say for sure what exactly will be here, I guess we can decide together if this option wins! More legs, more torsos, more heads, support weapons? Anything possible!

5. Nope, I know a better idea, let me tell you in comments!

Just as written, share your opinion! Maybe there is something else everyone will like more?

I guess it might be closer to modern police, but I will take a note, why not?

I actually think some kind of more modular/generic police with different head options (US, Afghan National Police, etc) would be pretty useful. Otherwise more Japanese LMG or sniper would also be cool (perhaps also with some normal helmet options). Basically multiple head options are neat for adding quick variety to the poses when printing in multiples.

That's why i'm asking for opinions. I haven't seen good recon elements for summer Russians available on the market, so I thought it might be a good idea to make one. The two patreons who made Russians I am aware of are focused more on modern Spetsnaz in heavy gear, not army recon in light camo suits.

I'm really unsure about mortars. They need whole crew of 4-5 soldiers to function properly, so i'll have to waste whole workload just to make them. Doesn't seem as a good investment for me. On other hand, if we speak about 0.50 as HMG - why not, i have some ideas on this matter.

Love to see the MG-3 on the tripod

honestly we have so many patreons making modern russians, dont need another one.

JSDF/German support weapons HMG/mortars

Gonna say Russian Recon. Some figures in the Russian style but with the multi-part (head-torso-gun-legs) would be a neat addition to the range. But then I'm biased as I'm working on fictional forces and want all the parts I can get my hands on! Very interested in the reinforcements. Extra poses (maybe some more squad leader style things) and some other weapons. British are really heavily done in metals by several people (although that doesn't mean there isn't a need for being able to print your own) and there is a lot of variation among British troops at that time (especially if you decide to make them look a little more 'ally'), so that might be a major project to do. But would be cool to get round to.

I guess we'll see in coming months. Why not, after all!

I really like all the options but I am a big fan of doing one subject in some depth. Perhaps always do figures of the same subject for two months.

I remember about them, trust me!

How about Modern Indian army?
