LLOYD: "I Did It All for the Dookie"

This really was lots of fun.

I love the little details in the background, like "Brad Tries: the Musical" or the hang in there poster having a human instead of cat lol

Chelsea Monk

Great stuff!! Keep it up!!

DeltaSceptile

Glad the feedback has been positive! The monkey scene is going to be cut when the episode airs on the site, plus it'll probably have a more extensive soundtrack as well.

Finally, my little review on this pilot episode: It was pretty okay and funny. Not kneeslapping funny but it put a lot of smiles on my face. The animation is quite good as well as the voice cast (it was predictable that a lot of Channel Awesome cameos would come but I didn't mind. My favourite one was Mathew Buck as the African boy with a British accent). And respect to Sarah for voicing two aliens which I thought would be voiced by a guy! And the story? I admit that I was hoping for something more original; a story that would use less movie references and name dropping. But what I got was still very entertaining, especially knowing the wonderful "Nookie" review. So: The pilot is good! Keep up the work on "Lloyd".

I really enjoyed the pilot, love the animation, the jokes were great and the music fit really well! The fact that Dookie's eyes blink out of sequence made me giggle more than it should have. Looking forward to more!

Yeah, Jowski's audio sounded like it was recorded off of Skype. Maybe it's just the compression he might've put on the audio file, but it seemed lower quality than the rest.

I really enjoyed this pilot. I thought the animation was extremely well done, and the jokes and story worked really well. I just can't wait to see what comes of more Lloyd Adventures with terrible characters from awful movies.

Matthew Cuarenta

Oh, nice! A pilot! Right now I can't watch it, I have to go to work in a while, but I'll celebrate home time by watching Lloyd today :) (and then I give my two cents about it).

I wonder if Blip's problems are related to the general Flash issues spreading across the web today. Anyway, Previous Commenter's link worked for me: http://blip.tv/play/hJFxg7fxKwI.x?p=1

I noticed the audio quality more from Jowski (the monkey) more than I did with Linkara but you are right. Overall, it's a good start and hopefully it'll build from there

OK Brad, just watched the pilot of Lloyd so I'm gonna give my thoughts. It's fucking terrible. ...Wait, no, that's what I'm gonna say when it hits your site and I just want to sound cool. Here you get my real opinion. ;) Overall, I think the show works pretty well. I like the animation style, it really plays to the strengths of what the animators can and can't do on their budget and schedule. The acting is pretty much what I expected, although there are moments when the dialogue just doesn't quite flow right. But I think that's more about the choice of takes and the sound editing, or maybe just the fact that everyone is recording their stuff whenever they can and it's all being assembled in post. In any case, it's hardly a dealbreaker. My only real complaint is actually some of the sound quality. I'm keenly aware that a few voices (whoever did that monkey and Linkara as Steve Railsback, of the Steve Railsback Medical Institute) have significantly different sound quality. I know that at least in the latter case, it's because he's recording it on his own equipment, and there's not a lot to do about that. Still not a dealbreaker, but noticeably distracting. Overall I give it... let's say 8/10. As a pilot I expect it to be a little rough in places, things to be a little off compared to where they'll be in regular episodes, etc. (I know you don't watch the show, but it's really instructive to look at the pilot episode of the Big Bang theory (the one that actually aired, that is, not the one with a different actress instead of Kaley Cuoco) and any regular episode. Characterization is off for most people, and in Sheldon's case WILDLY different.) But a lot of things went right, and I am positive I'll like the next episode even more. ...So when can I see more Pop Quiz Hotshot?

Patrick Thatcher

Love the musical choices. Also Brad Tries the Musical when?

Inquisitor

You put a smile on my face, Brad. I liked it all right. Funny, charming, and the ending was kinda sweet. Good first episode! I'm interested to see how the rest of it pans out. I also liked the selection of voice talents here. Mathew as the African boy was a nice touch. Good work all around. The animation is wonderful!

Nick Michalak

I think I'm going to like Lloyd the cartoon as much as I like Lloyd the real live cat.

There appears to be a problem with Blip. Any videos viewed on their site gives a 404 error when trying to load player-dot-blip-dot-tv. Not sure why. :(

(NOTE!!!! It appears as if Blip's browser is broke for some reason. I can't figure out an alternative right now, so just hang tight and I'll let you all know when the browser is fixed. I'll still leave the video up if it gets fixed while I'm away.)

Doesn't load for me, either. Edit: In fact, none of the videos on blip seem to play for me at the moment. hm...

Max Schmidt

video won't load for me

Finally! Looking forward to this.
