Midnight Screenings: "Jaws"

Comments

Didn't catch the screening last night, but thankfully next month the downtown summer series will be screening JAWS in 35mm

You're gonna need a bigger car.

The theater I work at is finally doing Fathom Events so I'm super excited to see Jaws on Wednesday.

My dad took my mom to see this back in 1975 while waiting for an airport pick-up, and to say the least, my mom did not come out of it very pleasantly. She is not one for horror films. I only first saw Jaws in the last five years or thereabout. A filmmaker friend of mine in L.A. is a really big fan of the film, possibly it being his favorite too. I imagine that partially helped motivate me to see it. I rented it from a Blockbuster Video, and have owned it on DVD twice and now Blu-Ray. Brilliant film. Another great case of better filmmaking through adversity. I recently watched the sequels accompanied by a fan commentary track, which was a real fun time. Jaws 2 feels like an 80s slasher film with a shark. Jaws 3 is ridiculous, but you can easily laugh at the bad effects and such. Plus, I know you love it because of McCorkindale. Coincidentally, the Nostalgia Critic Jaws 3-D episode was the first time I ever saw you in any video. And of course, Jaws: The Revenge is just really damn stupid, but it does have Michael Caine.

Oh nice! I went to see the re-release this afternoon! Second time I've seen it theatrically.
