Atop the Fourth Blog: Day 8
Added 2015-04-26 05:08:33 +0000 UTCI feel like the voice over in Nukie right now. "Nothing important happening here." Well, like I said last night, today I had the day off, so I wasn't on set at all. I'm told filming went great though, only a few of us had the day off today. That's why the only picture I got is a pov of crossing over a highway bridge to get to a Taco Bell. I still got up at the same time today though, I couldn't miss the continental breakfast! So I had some breakfast with Kailyn, then hung out in my room for a bit, and wrote the latest DVD-R Hell episode of Tequila and Bonetti. This one is fantastic, Tequila and Bonetti bust a crooked car dealership that steals Bonetti's cherished cadillac. But more importantly than that, you get to see Tequila with a cigar in his mouth! Let's see, what else is there. Well, I had Culver's for lunch, I watched an episode of The Daily Show, I had Taco Bell for dinner. Come to think of it, I've probably put on a few pounds since this shoot. Well, as long as my pants still fit, I'm good. A bit of sad news though. Allison and I got through all of the episodes of Tequila and Bonetti. That's right, no more Tequila and Bonetti for us to watch. Did it have a proper conclusion? Nope! Which we expected when we noticed that the episodes aired out of order. BUT, there is the 2000 Italian reboot of Tequila and Bonetti, which still has Jack Scalia as Bonetti, but a completely different kind of dog as Tequila, and with a different voice. I'm not sure how I feel about a non French Mastiff playing Tequila, and without the voice of Brad Sanders. But Scalia is back, and Jack Scalia is awesome! I've found some episodes of it on youtube, but it's in Italian of course. I think some may be dubbed in German too. If anyone out there knows how I can get my hands on an English dub of this, definitely let me know. I don't even know if an English dub of it even exists. Maybe? It's possible I guess. I just loved that someone out there appreciated Tequila and Bonetti enough to give it a reboot, even if it's sans Officer Garcia and the great Charles Rocket, who was one of my favorite characters on the show. Captain Midian Knight could have had his own spin off, seriously. Today was a good day for me personally. When I woke up I kinda thought it was going to be a bad one, but I'm not a morning person anyway and typically always wake up in not the best of moods. But as the day went on, I'm perfectly fine. That doesn't mean tomorrow will be great too, because, like they say, you just gotta take stuff one day at a time. Getting over cutting off someone who was like a brother to you for 12 years, and under such horrible circumstances, is definitely something you can't get over in a week, or even a month. That shit takes time, and watching the greatness of Tequila and Bonetti with real friends is the step in the right direction. No joke, that show is a treasure.

I'm really glad you had this time with your friends working on a great project Brad, it sounds like it's exactly what you needed. And I have to say kudos to you for not getting into binge drinking mode. I have a friend who moved from New Brunswick to British Columbia for his fiance, only to have her dump him a month later. He's been drunk every night for the last three months. I've shown him your videos and it's helping him get back on his feet. I wanted to say thanks on his behalf for that.

2015-04-27 21:07:30 +0000 UTCIt was a real cruddy weather day in Chicago, and so, I think I carried some of the depression load today. I just felt really grim all day, but a fan commentary on Jaws brightened the end of it. Hope both our Sunday's are good ones.
