Atop the Fourth Blog: Day 5

Today was an off day, and I'm probably just as tired, but it's totally for a good reason! I didn't sleep for shit last night, it took me forever to finally get to sleep, so I may have woken up pretty damn sleepy today. But, Allison, Kailyn and I made our way over to the Mall of America! We were there briefly on our first day to eat dinner, but today we really god to explore. And by explore I mean we went to about 1 or 2 stores, and rode rides for most of the day. We did eat at the Bubba Gump Shrinp Company, because why the hell wouldn't we. I got the "Bucket of Trash," which was a bucket of all kinds of goodies! Crab legs, shrimp, fish, and fries. The shrimp was surprisingly meh, but the rest was damn good. Apparently you get a free meal if you answer several Forrest Gump related questions. I have the feeling that they keep going infinitely until you get one wrong. I got asked about 15 questions, and got only 3 wrong. Apparently I really know my Forrest Gump trivia! Imagine if it were Caligula trivia. We had a blast on the rides, the roller coasters were great, and of course we went on the Log Chute. I don't know what it is about those log flume rides, I know that they're kinda lame, but I just have to do them! There's something so cozy about them. The rides were all Nickelodeon themed, and I hope to god the reason the Log Chute was there was because of Ren & Stimpy. There was a lame haunted house where you're supposed to shoot at ghosts, but fuck all if those guns worked properly. But again, there's something about haunted houses in theme parks. I just have to do them. I know it will probably be bad, but I gotta do it. Same with the fun houses. It's a must. We met up with Angry Joe at the food court, whose plane just got in today. Damn I missed Joe. I haven't seen Joe since To Boldly Flee, and it's been wonderful hanging out with the guy again. Joe is one of those guys who can make you laugh without saying a damn word. Great dude, and it's been way too long since we've all hung out together. We all shot the shit a lot, told some stories, and then went searching for Chinese food. Sadly the place we ended up at was closed. We accidentally ended up in an Indian Food restaurant, because we thought it was a different place, but then we ended up at a pizza joint called Topper's which was across the street. The pizza was really good, and so were the wings. Allison got these Chocolate Bacon cheese sticks which everyone loves, but they tasted kinda burnt to me. Maybe that was just my piece. I didn't go for a 2nd piece, because, chocolate bacon cheese sticks? I just need one. The regular cheese sticks on the other hand, amazing. Oh, I almost forgot, we got to see someone get arrested at the Mall of America. Some lady and her friend were being led away in handcuffs, with their kids there too. But the biggest eye catching part was the two cops who were leading them away, and then the one cop on the segway. The segway was important though, it had all the bags attached to it that belonged to the ladies. I have no idea how filming went today, because, well, we weren't there. Supposedly it went good though. If it went poorly, we'd probably have heard about it. But if you're wondering how today is going in terms of my own personal shit? Yeah, today was fine. There was enough distractions going on today that it was near impossible to be depressed about anything. It's also near impossible to be depressed when around Joe. I've noticed my moods of the day typically depend on what's on my mind when I go to sleep. So that means, gotta think happy thoughts happy thoughts happy thoughts when trying to get to sleep. I know that I was never really the type to pour out personal feelings online, I rarely ever did on twitter, and extremely rarely on facebook as well. I don't know if it throws anyone off that the patreon blog is a little different, but I said at the beginning that I would definitely use this blog to talk about whatever I wanted, and it would always be stuff that I wouldn't talk about on twitter or anywhere else. It's all about what I'm thinking about in my life and what I'm going through, and while the Atop the Fourth Wall movie is what's going on professionally for me now, not to mention hanging out with my friends, I gotta talk about everything which also includes how I'm feeling emotionally. Until tomorrow, hopefulyl I sleep a little bit better tonight.

I can, but only if I'm going somewhere like House of Kobe where I get dinner and a show and an entire second meal's worth of leftovers.

There are times I wish I had an outlet to just expell the bad mojo swirling around me without the baggage of friends weighing it down. These more personal Patreon posts feel like a really special treat, and if you need some place to discretely decompress those emotions, I've got no problem with it. The support here seems all positive.

I can't speak for anybody but myself, but I find the more personal posts to be a very interesting Patreon perk. It kind of makes it feel a bit more personal, like joining the Close Personal Friend of Brad club. Sure, not real friends per sé, but if you needed a place to crash in my area I would open up my couch. It's quite a comfy couch too, might do you some good.

Wheee, another totally strange-to-me restaurant to look up! And okay, I would give it a try if I ever had the chance. I somehow have to think of that season 1 "Simpsons" episode with the Simpsons visiting that fish restaurant (with Bart ordering a giant squid and Marge eating fish even though she later claims she has a fish allergy). BTW: I'd love to visit a restaurant where they'd ask me "Life of Brian" questions. Can you tell why these people in the mall got arrested? Also: Yes, Angry Joe is so cool. I have never met him but whenever I watch a video by him he fails to entertain me :D

It's been fun seeing the stream of photos you've been posting from the set on Twitter.

Here's hoping for a massive DVD-R Hell:T&B crossover! "Atop The Angry Fourth Movie Night of Hell on DVD-R (and Bonetti)"

Looking at the price list for Bubba Gump's makes me appreciate Oklahoma restaurants all the more. I cannot imagine spending ~$20 on a single person meal! Gimme Captain D's any day of the week! Those chocolate bacon cheese sticks do sound tempting, though. Too bad you got a burnt one, else I'd ask how they compared to that chocolate bacon popcorn you had on the last Brad Tries.

I really appreciate these Patreon text blogs from you.

Wish you the best in your personal endeavors Brad and look forward to any content you create.

I'm not sure if eating at Caligula's would be the worst restaurant experience or the most amazing one! It's your Blog Brad, I think most of us would never begrudge sharing your feelings. We're fans for a reason....
