Atop the Fourth Blog: Day 2

Today was our off day, which thank god, Lord knows I was very exhausted from yesterday. Actually, not really, I had a line and a reaction shot yesterday and slept pretty well. I'm sleeping way better here than at home as a matter of fact. I used to think I had seasonal insomnia, but maybe it's just that the futon I sleep on at home saw it's last day a couple years ago. Even Lloyd prefers the couch upstairs. Filming was still going on today, but the out of town cast had the day off, as Lewis was filming some scenes for the movie elsewhere. You know what that means? Not much really, we didn't do jack shit today. We went looking for a Walmart, but ended up at Walgreens. We ate at a Mongolian Grill called Khan's, and yes, we seeked it out because of the name. It wasn't too bad, but the best part was the reruns of Most Extreme Elimination Challenge that were playing on the tv's. Doesn't matter where you sat, you could get a good view of Vic and Ken. We showed Allison the gritty "Power/Rangers," and the line "bullshit is a bad color on you" is so good that if it were in the show, I would have watched it. Nash spent a lot of time watching some show on Discovery called "Naked and Afraid," which is a show that only exists so they could show bare ass on tv. I got a laugh when I asked "so do they ever bang on this show?" which is a serious question damn it. Naked and in the woods for 20 days, something's bound to happen, I've seen amazon cannibal movies. Point is, fuck I hate reality tv. We ordered some pizza and then all participated in Radio Dead Air Live. My laptop was used to cue up skype, and with the lovely hotel wifi, there may have been some cut outs and such. In fact I know there was, I could see the tweets about it. But I was too busy responding to Nash and Film Brain's "Great Outdoors" quotes. Sadly the episode ended with no one blowing anyone out their ass, but there was a story about a guy fucking a tree. Tomorrow is a big full day of filming, and I think our next day off may be in a few days. I've missed acting in work that's not mine, I love it and I have a blast, and believe me I need all of that now. We haven't gotten to the Tequila and Bonetti DVD's yet, but there's still plenty of time. I'm rooming with Nash, and there's been plenty of me walking in the room and saying "Dude, are you watching [insert movie]?" So far it's been "Transformers," "I Know What You Did Last Summer," and "Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay." I did ask "dude are you watching Naked and Afraid," because I didn't know what the fuck that was, and lord knows I'm not watching that again. What scenes will tomorrow bring? Will I get to be badass with a shotgun? Who knows, but there will be plenty of pictures and writing about it.

Isn't it always the way. You've got loads of time to kill, and with not knowing the area you just sit around and waste away the day. I've been there a few times on shoot days. Still, glad to hear things are going well!

Keep having a good time there!

I had no idea someone liked MXC other than me! I need to watch it again over the summer, I totally forgot it existed.

Sounds like so much fun - hope you have a great day filming tomorrow

Kaylie McCausland

What a weird selection of movies to watch together.
