"Shot on Shitteo" and Patreon Update

Hello everyone! Currently on a train heading to Chicago, so I can then carpool to Detroit for Midwest Media Expo. Hope to see a lot of people there! It'll be nice to get out of town for a few days, especially how truly awful and depressing the past month was. I'm not gonna lie, March 2015 was personally one of the worst months I've experienced in god knows how many years. Business wise, it's been great, the site is still running strong, but goddamn, when life kicks your ass, it also punches you in the face with a set of brass knuckles. I know that we're a couple weeks behind on having another Skype meetup, that's due largely in part to me being gone for about half of the month. Between this convention, and the Atop the Fourth Wall movie, I think I'm gone for about half of April. But, we'll definitely make that up to you. If we get behind, we'll make it up by having multiple Skype meetups in a given month. There's some updates regarding future projects. "The Reviewers" Season Finale has been re-written, and I think it flows really well. Half of the episode had to be re-written to not only take the Jeff character out of it, but to also add a new character, Oliver, played by Ryan. I get back from the Atop the Fourth Wall movie on April 28th I believe, and right now the finale of The Reviewers is looking to be shot during the first week of May. The Reviewers: Season 1 was originally supposed to be released on DVD, but for legal reasons, it can't be. So, the alternative to that will be to still do the extra features, but post them as Patreon exclusives, complete with DVD artwork for people who want to put together their very own Reviewers Season 1 DVD. There will be commentaries, bonus bloopers, exclusive Rickhead episodes and more. As for "Shot on Shitteo," our original plan was to completely rewrite the film, and take the existing footage and make fake trailers out of them to splice into the film. Well, we've decided not to go that route. I really like the script that we already have, and I'd love for it to come into fruition. Once The Reviewers Season 1 is done, we'll be going back into Shot on Shitteo, which means that the movie, with the same script it's always had, will simply be reshot. Some of the shots we've previously used can still work, plus what we shot for the 2nd segment about the rape squirrels will still work too. Obviously just the stuff with Jake will have to be reshot, which means about 90% of it has to be reshot since he was the lead in that particular segment. Fortunately, that won't cost anything extra, we already have the props, the effects and anything else that would have cost money. Ryan will be stepping into Jake's shoes to play Johnny, the paraplegic saddled with a haunted wheelchair. But, the news that I'm most excited about, our "Lloyd" project should see a premiere date in early May. I've been getting weekly updates on the animation, and words can't say how incredibly happy I am with this project. This may be one of my favorite shows to be on the site. I know that our previous animated series "Game Boys" received a mixed reaction, but I hope people give "Lloyd" a chance. It goes above and beyond what "Game Boys" was, and I really really think that we have a solid hit on our hands, not just in audience response, but in quality too. The fellas over at Toonwerks have really given this their all, and I couldn't be prouder of them. This project has a lot of heart from everyone involved, and I have a good hunch the viewers will love it too. Until next time, hope you all have a great weekend!

Don’t buy into what appears as real. You are not your problems. You are not your failures. You are a magnificent being with unlimited potential. This to shall pass dude.

I hope everything is smooth sailing for a while, a month of crap deserves an extended period of good stuff!

Heidi Wempen

I won't pretend to understand what crap you must have gone through in the past month, I will just wish you a sincere thanks for the update and the constant and consistently entertaining content you guys provide. Have fun on your trip!

Riley

I see. :)

Good to hear about things being better than last month. Not to compare but the past four months or so have been terrible on my end to where I could use just even a day where I can just feel happy for a change. Your stuff helps out a lot so I should say thank you for that. Looking forward to Lloyd a whole lot and the other projects as well. Again, thanks and I hope things improve more and more in the coming months.

For me, February was my shit month. I just hit total rock bottom. So, I'm really sympathetic to anyone who has had a real gut punch of a month, for whatever reason. I hope it's beginning to level out for you, man. I know the Cons usually get your spirits up higher, and I hope this is no different. Best of luck to Lewis on the movie. The guy busts his ass to the point where I don't know where he finds the energy anymore. I hope he doesn't burn himself out. Glad to hear about "Shot on Shitteo." It does severely suck to have to re-shoot a ton of footage, but at least you're preserving the original script. Re-writes are such a difficult process. In any case, getting everything back on track seems to me the 2015 motto. I hope "The Reviewers" finale goes well, and things do begin to smooth out this summer. I've faced just about every production setback known to man, and none of them are easy to deal with. Best wishes to you all in moving forward. I'll be excited to see how "Lloyd" turns out. It's certainly a concept that takes far more advantage of the cartoon medium than "Game Boys" ultimately could. I'm looking forward to it!

You rock Brad and our thoughts are with you. Have a good trip and looking forward to your upcoming projects and enjoying the hell out of the Tequila and Bonetti DvRHell episodes.

Sweet dude. Looking forward to Lloyd. Speaking as an animator, I expect the release schedule to someone spastic. Animation is VERY hard work. I remember one thing that Stamper was quoted as saying in a spot with Cartoon Hangover, Take whatever release date you expect for a cartoon, double the time for that, and then double that. With how often I've experienced flash crashing and files getting corrupted... that seems accurate. Anyway, I look forward to anything new you put out dude. Have a great time at Midwest Media!

Thank you so much =) "The Reviewers" honestly wasn't that hard to rewrite. The original script mostly had to do with Jillian and Brian, with frequent cuts back to what Sarah and Jake's characters were doing. Since all 4 of them never shared the same screen time, until the very end, only the scenes with Sarah and Jake had to be rewritten, with only a slight addition of a couple lines to Jillian and Brian's scenes.

Yes, thanks for the update! First of all, I hope you will have a good time in Detroit and a relaxing journey. Then, yes, March was crappy, not only for you which won't console you much but "at least" we all have some reason or another to kick March 2015 in the ass multiple times. I sincerely hope there will be another Skype session in the near future. It's very much fun but I understood why March was not really the best time to accomplish this. Last but not least: Your projects. I wish you the very best for them and that they will come out as you imagined them (despite all the rewritings). I'm a bit excited about your "Lloyd" project, because...well, who doesn't love Lloyd? And I'm looking forward to the final result. Have a great weekend, too!
