Happy New Years Eve!

Hope everyone has a safe New Years tonight. I'll be meeting up with my dad and some family at about 4:30 or so, and then heading downtown around 9 to meet up with friends, have drinks, and ring in the new year. Normally I'm not much up for going to the bars on huge drinking nights like this, because, well, it's freakin packed, and I'm the type of guy who enjoys going out to bars with friends when the bar is dead. But last year I spent my new years eve on a train heading to Washington DC for Magfest. I was probably asleep. So I'm making up for that this year and I honestly don't mind going downtown. Boy am I glad Magfest moved their dates to the end of the month. The fact that it was always the first weekend of January was the reason that for the longest time I wasn't able to go. Now it's at the end of the month, and hell yes I'll be there. I'll also be spending a day on the train beforehand like usual. It's honestly not so bad, I get myself a sleeper car, and it's basically just like having a very very time hotel room for a day, and I just chill out and fuck around on the computer for a while. I don't mind simply getting a seat on the train, but for a long trip like that, my restless leg would sore up like mad and make sleeping quite the nightmare. But more on that towards the end of the month. Right now it's getting that time of the year where HOLY SHIT IT'S FUCKING COLD!! Man, doing the Midnight Screenings last night was rough. Sure we warm up the car first, but there's that little bit of time where our legs are technically icicles, and then our legs feel like they're on fire. The extra kick in the nuts too is that not only is it freezing this time of year, but January and February always bring the worst movies to go right along with it. What am I seeing this weekend? Woman in Black 2. I haven't seen the movie, but I don't know if that screams "yes, I will gladly sit in sub zero temperatures to talk about this." Another interesting factor to will be scheduling for the season finale of The Reviewers. There are a number of scenes that take place outside. Now, we're no stranger to filming in miserable Winter weather. "The Hooker with a Heart of Gold" had scene filmed outside after a snowstorm, and "Midnight Heat" was largely shot in freezing weather. With "Midnight Heat" you can't really tell because to look at the movie, you would have expected it to be summertime outside, because that's what it kinda looks like, but nope. It was cold as shit. What's different about The Reviewers is that it is far far FAR colder outside this winter than it ever was when we filmed those other things. That's going to make scheduling these scenes quite interesting, but I'm still determined to get this episode shot before mid January, and I would love for "The Reviewers: Season 1" DVD to be ready in time for Wizard World Indianapolis in February, but even if it's not ready by then, we'll be taking pre-orders.

I hope your night was a little more agreeable with you than the birthday outing. Either way, turn on the El Rey Network today - 12 hour Miami Vice marathon!

Any chance for a patreon meetup at magfest this year?

Sweet, looking forward to more Reviewers. Seems like the current project you've got running that your crew looks like they have the most fun making. Not to mention is gives Jillian and Sarah a chance to really shine. Hell, I love all the characters for that series. From emoting to blocking to comedic timing I think Reviewers is awesome. Keep it up Brad, I look forward to every new one.

Shit, is 'Big Eyes' out?! I'm way more out of the loop than I thought.

Inquisitor

Big Eyes is definitely worth checking out if it came to your theater. It's probably one of the few movies Julian would willingly go to.
