A Happier Entry

Now for a lighter entry than I did yesterday lol. For all the Patreon members out there, once the new year hits and the holidays settle down, Ryan and I will be sitting down to plan out on the calendar when to schedule the skype chats with the $100 supporters, and also when to record the voice messages. Dave is very hard at work and almost done with the t-shirt and poster designs, I retweeted some shots of it on twitter within the past week, and you can check them out over on his twitter page @maxfnforce. New Brad Tries, Flaming Brians, and Snobcasts will be coming too for the Patreon members, plus I've to the season finale of The Reviewers written and will hopefully be shooting that within the first full week of January, and then it's all about finishing up Shot on Shitteo. But also, as you've noticed, we hit one of our milestones! We're incredibly happy that we hit one so quickly! You guys have been awesome, and you're support goes to the great cause of supporting all the members of Team Snob, as well as future projects like a new upcoming animated series, which hopefully can be done within 2015. Some of you may be wondering if it has anything to do with "Game Boys: The Animated Series." Well, no unfortunately. I liked the Game Boys series very much, but it was simply too expensive to continue, which would have been fine come a year later with more funding, BUT my Game Boys co-host Alex Shryock recently got married, and has moved to Iowa, and he and his awesome wife are expecting their first child. Alex is a huge huge part of both Game Boys the movie and Game Boys the series, and I don't have any interest in continuing it without Alex, it would feel wrong to me. So a new animated series will be in the works. Now if you'll excuse me, I've gotten myself quite addicted to House of Cards in the last few days. With my little break from the Snob, I've been binge watching so much TV, and House of Cards is pure political porn, it's fucking great. This show is like watching C-Span seen through the eyes of Tennessee Williams, it's one of the most addicting things I've watched in the past couple years. **spoilers** Sure, I lost my favorite character on the show, Peter Russo, but just when I think this show couldn't get anymore awesome, BAM Jimmie Simpson shows up. Fantastic. There is one thing about it though that's interesting, and I'm not sure if it's a flaw or not, but it's certainly catching my eye. If I'm supposed to be rooting against Frank Underwood, it's not really working, because I'm constantly rooting against the journalists that are trying to take him down. Probably on the basis of Frank is a much much more likable and interesting character than any of the journalists on the show. Also, holy shit does this show have a lot of Apple product placement! It's not really bothering me here though, in the sense that the products are just simply being used for what their normal use is. No one is really saying anything about them, they just happen to be the phones and computers they're using. It isn't like in "Sex Tape," when you have Jason Segal saying shit like "look how durable this is!" Granted, on House of Cards, the apple logo is conveniently in the forefront of numerous shots, which can take me out of it, but in terms of extremely heavy product placement, I've seen worse, and far more clumsy. This show is great regardless.

I,freaking.love.this.show! The impeccable acting, the sharp writing, and perfect casting is spellbinding. And I agree, it's hard to want the downfall of Frank, but I imagine they know that full well. Not coincidently considering Kevin Spacey's other recent projects, Frank has his connections to a modern Richard the Third. You may be disgusted by his actions but his intelligence, wit, and style mean you can't help but root for the guy. Who doesn't wish they were that slick and able to unabashedly go for what they want? I am very curious about how they will eventually end it. I figure they could easily go either way, with his complete domination or complete downfall. Can't wait to find out!

Hahahaha, just in time for season 3 :P

Eh you've touched upon the problem I have with House of Cards. While I never expected Peter Russo to be the downfall of Frank Underwood, as awesome as that would have been, at least there was potential for things to go wrong for Frank. But no, he just constantly has the upper hand in every situation and that gets boring pretty fast. I want to like the journalists and Zoe but the way she's written makes it very hard for me to do so. Peter was great though, I really hated myself for liking him at first but then I genuinely liked him and I'm happy to see Corey Stoll get a lot of work now. Looking forward to Dave's shirt/poster!

Kind of like the Windows product placement in Arrow... Doesn't bother me much, but I noticed it.
