This story struck me as a perfect example of an invention that seems unimportant, but which (over the course of many years) has saved hundreds (if not thousands) of lives.
If you want to read a bit more about the battle referenced in the video, here's an article about it that goes into a lot of detail - including one British tank missing its chance to defend itself because the gunner was outside, "spending a penny"!
