Past's Desires

I felt the need to draw character art for some of the dogs from my comic projects and started sketching something up when I was at Berlin Art Market. This is the result and it focuses on two characters that may have hurt eachother, causing wounds that will hardly go away.
We see the longing dog Dole looking up melancholy to the sky as he dreams of someone he misses dearly... what happened? Did they part ways? Did the poodle of his dreams die? We might find out in the comic. However, I wanted to show Dole's feelings with his doleful expression, his beautiful yet sad eyes and overall design I'm proud of. Even so, his fur was absolutely difficult to colour with brushmarkers. I had to do a lot of blending and layering due to the colours either being too saturated, too blue-ish or too yellow-ish for his actual coat colour. Either way, I'm happy with the drawing and I hope it will spark some interest within you as well^^
