:Gift: Bird Guy

this is the other piece for my two friends for Christmas, which was commissioned by this lovely man here.
He wanted to get something special for himself and his wife for Christmas and asked me, to draw them both as I see them. I then looked at reference images (photos) of them and created these two black and white illustrations of them, always taking a close look on their special facial features that I have to carefully point out with these drawings. Additionally, I put their favourite birds on their shoulders since they love birds (and I had fun drawing these two budgies! Check out the other illustration ;) )
I especially had fun drawing him and practicing human faces with these two pieces since I personally find the outcome of his portrait very good for my conditions and skills. I clearly can see that it's him and not somebody else. Working in black and white makes it hard to have certain features stand out since you can only work with lines instead of flat colouring or shading. But it was fun and I am happy with the result^^
I am grateful for his support over the years and hope they had/have a Merry Christmas together!
