:COMM: Viking Mare

Hey everyone^^

Inbetween work for a client, I can now present you a finished commission, that was very challenging for me and sometimes even difficult but in the end this piece for @teru-erica really worked out well and I am absolutely proud of it^^

Some of you know, I am not the best at drawing clothes, details, non-organic objects etc. and when I heard I have to work on a Viking OC, I feared that I couldn't do this properly. However, the challenge was it to really build up the look of this OC without any reference material, so from the commissioner's description of an old but yet still beautiful earth pony viking mare, who's inspired by the old shaman lady from Brother Bear, wearing traditional viking clothes, an axe and those metal accessoires in her mane and tail, I created a first sketch and more or less directly hit the right spot with it :O :D To be honest, i am absolutely happy with how it turned out, especially her face that we get to see with her helmet and without it. In my opinion, I managed to draw her old but not the ugly kind of old, but rather beautiful.

I was very careful with the lineart, adding runes all over the metal rings in her mane and tail, also adding miner details and of course refining the braids. Wow...that must be a lot of weight she carries around each and every day. Nope, wouldn't like to have such a long mane/tail XD

Alrighty! I can call this one done for now and I want to thank Kriz, the commissioner and now my new Wolf-Sister, for her patience with me, her support and kind words^^ It absolutely means a lot to me :blush::D
