Anatomy Studies

Hello everyone,

you might be wondering a bit about this one, but it's actually for art academy this time. Since we also have a subject for drawing and painting more or less realistically, learning to understand proportions, perspective etc., we do have anatomy on our list this year and therefore I created this Cover Sheet for my Folder :)

I felt like sketching a male and a female nude since we are about to have at least one or two live drawing courses in that subject sooner or later and therefore I need to prepare a little, drawing humans more often if possible. While I think there still is lots of room for improvement when it comes to proportions, faces and especially hands and feet, I sure am proud of the result, although it's not flawless. I see that the shoulders parts are pretty exaggerated after people pointed it out to me and hands will always make me struggle, but aside from that, I like their body shapes and even the partly shading I created :)

I did feel like giving them two contrast-rich colours like blue and orange to also create an interesting look to it. By outlining the two people with a pencil yet again, they stand out a bit from the additional body features I sketched like the eye, nose and mouth (again, parts that I need to practice) and bring them to be the main focus in the image. It's something kept simple yet something that I can say I am pleased with. Looking forward to learning more about anatomy/drawing humans at Art Academy and I'm curious what your feedback will be :)
