Romantic Rescue

Hello everyone,

what to do when you feel ambitious to draw without having a clue on WHAT to draw? You ask someone for advice and I asked :iconsnoopystallion: if he had an idea. Us both loving foxes, he mentioned Robin Hood and Maid Marian from the Disney Movie and I felt hooked by the idea to draw them in a romantic yet dynamic scene^^

There are videos and images of them both holding each other tight as Robin rescues the beautiful vixen he loves by swinging on a rope and taking her to somewhere safe and I wanted to capture that^^ He is the strong, protecting secret hero that only wants the best for his beloved ones and so they both are clinged together as he is taking her with him above the ground and perhaps soldiers and intruders, but also to get them both to a more quiet place they can share some time at. Therefore, I didn't want to draw anyone in the background that could distract from the couple, I rather wanted to give them a warm sunset in a forest as they sneak past someone's tent like that. That is supposed to create a beautiful atmosphere and add the romantic touch.

Besides, I also wanted to give them more realistic features, such as more detailed fur and fox-like faces and proportions to break away a bit from the typical Disney style used before. That was more for practice matters but I think it wasn't such a bad idea :) I kept their over all design and only changed a few minor things when it comes to their colours and patterns.

I have to say that I really love how this piece turned out and that it even might be one of my favourite traditional pieces I've created over the years. Interesting what can be made during some time at school huh? :P
