City Kisses

Hey guys,

so during the latest period of days due to school exams, application stuff and so on, I had a meh time (for lack of a better word) sometimes and when this was the case, I distracted myself a little by working on a small drawing that cheered me up and made me daydream a little.

This is the result. During the process, I was thinking about the bright and shiny lights in the city at night or evening which is why I wanted to create some sort of similar effect in the beackground, looking like all sorts of light sources coming from a variety of shops/stores, cares and so on in the city in the evening while our main characters kiss in the foreground. I just loved this thought so much since where others see a stressful, hectica society in a dirty and ugly city, I see an interesting kind of beauty that it has, something mythical during the night and I actually love sitting in the car while looking outside of the window to see passengers walking by and the different streets in all ther uniqueness somehow. It has something interesting for me.

Nevertheless, I actually wanted to go with a simple cellshaded style in this drawing but I figured that was just not enough for the scenery. So I tried out a new kind of shading technique and this is the result. I think I could go a little further with it, but getting the colours right in a way was kinda challenging already. I also got to play around with some other effects and stamps etc. in ClipStudio Paint, so it had an even more fun side to it^^
