This month I'm excited to present to you all something a little different. This is a collection of 12 different adventure site maps. My hope is that these can inspire GMs with some fun one-shot style adventures, and provide some assets for KNOW CONSPIRATORS participating in the CABIN FEVER Jam (see below).
Want to see more like this? I would like to know in the comments below what you think!
All of these are hand drawn, and most were drawn on real paper and then scanned, a much different process then my normal "all digital" methods.
When I first got into 5th Edition D&D, I remember being disappointed when a WotC book had all black and white maps, but I've come to realize that they are GREAT at the table and for quick inspirations, and that HUGE dungeons don't really need the details on the map all the time. This release is an exploration of that idea.
Many of the grids are drawn with "10ft squares" in mind (instead of my usual 1 inch = 5 feet), though I've left of scales so you can use them as desired!
Note: the free versions are released via a Creative Commons license (CC BY-SA), and rest are available for commercial use using the Limithron Commercial license.
I want to give a special shout out to some fellow cartographers that have influenced this project: Skull Fungus, Dyson Logos, and Doug Kovacs. Check them out!
Several of these maps were drawn in the Caribbean during our sailing trip last year. Check out this YouTube video and to see that exact river that became the Waterslide Delta map!
The map collection includes:
Cave of the Crab Crone
Ziggurat of the Sleeping Eye
Dungeon of the Dark Star
Temple to Cthogru
Wreck of the Fallen Angel
Storm Crow Bay
Shrine of the Ancient Frog
The Water Slide Delta
Cavern of the Iron Obelisk
Lord of Sands Village
Cenote
Mesoan City Ruins
Our first official Pirate Borg content jam, CABIN FEVER, is open for submissions all through May.
We're giving away $3k in prizes, and all winners are being compiled into a print-on-demand book. I'm inviting YOU to make something for it! YES YOU!
300dpi black and white versions are released via Creative Commons for free! You can use them in your commercial projects (CC BY-SA 4.0 DEED: Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International) with or without a watermark. You can even hack and edit them together.
Quartermaster+ patrons get access to the 1200dpi high res files.
Captain+ patrons get access to parchment, color versions.
Admiral+ patrons will get PDFs and a Foundry module will walls already installed.
Free (No Strings Attached!). These maps are openly licensed via CC BY-SA 4.0.
