Shrine of the Serpent Adventure Location Beta
Added 2023-12-01 00:54:55 +0000 UTCThings are very busy in Limithron world! I type this from my hotel in Philadelphia, as PAX Unplugged starts tomorrow. It's very exciting for me and my team as we have our own dedicated 4 table game room, 11 Harbourmasters, 40 Pirate Borg games (including a 4-table special event game), and a 10' x 20' booth in the main hall. We're also co-spearheading this really fun Corpse Run scavenger hunt with the Mörk Borg creators (Johan and Pelle), Free League Publishing, and all 10 Mörk Borg 3PP vendors here at the con.

This afternoon I interviewed the amazing Mike Schley for the next episode of The Ship of the Dead, and we had a LOT to talk about. Mike has done the bulk of the maps for all of the Dungeons & Dragons 5E adventures (include my favorites Tomb of Annihilation and Curse of Strahd) and he is one of my biggest inspirations, so look for that soon.
Coral Reef Kit Update
I wanted to have the Coral Reef Asset Kit ready for today, but as I was making maps with it this morning, I realized it was good, but not great. It needs some critters like crabs and sea turtles, some sea shells, and some water effects like bubbles and floating plankton. So I'm gonna keep making assets for it and you guys will hopefully be glad I took my time!
Shrine of the Snake Adventure Location
BUT, I've been really hard at work on this month's Dark Caribbean preview, an adventure location for the Shrine of the Snake map. I got to run it at this month's Ship of the Dead meetup in Colorado and we had a blast, and we've teamed up with Dwarven Forge here at PAX U to have a 3D terrain version of it setup up all week. So here is the Beta PDF of the location. I'm sure it will change (and get more art and editing) before the book is done, but this version is close to what I intend for it. I plan to have a bunch of "moveable" locations like this one in the final book, so you can place them on any island without breaking "cannon", if there is such a thing in a sandbox OSR campaign!
Let me know what you think, run it for your players, and let us know what you think of it in the Discord server. OR don't download it, get in your car (or pirate ship) and come to PAX Unplugged and play it with one of our Harbourmasters!
Captains and higher also get a printer friendly Black and White version, and we are putting together a Dark Caribbean Beta Foundry Module so that a lot of the Beta content will live in one spot instead of a bunch of separate modules.
