AP - Virtual Replacement 1

Hey everyone^^

I have a new piece for my art portfolio to show you, which might seem a little strange at first sight. Some people see a spider, some others see what I intended it to be, a weird mixture between an Owl and a PS3 controller.

This is actually a really cool idea for the next controllers in my opinion, I think it's pretty epic in a way, but also has a deeper message to it. Showing the combination of digital devices and living beings stands for the replacement of reality and nature by the digital and virtual world. In more and more games, movies, series and so on, people now try to re-create a new reality and the borders between real and fake are slim. Video game graphics get more and more realistic and this is what this drawing shall show.

It has been drawn with watercolour pencils and a white pen to create some highlights for example in the owl's eyes. I had loooots of fun working on it and am super happy with how it tuned out^^ I like the look of it and that it looks quite realistic if you ask me :)

There might follow drawings/paintings that deal with the same topic :)
