The Future of Limithron's Patreon Poll
Added 2022-10-27 21:43:54 +0000 UTCPIRATE BORG is nearing completion, and as such I will be working on much more content for this Patreon.
What would you like us to work on? If you have other suggestions or ideas, share them below in the comments or in the Discord.
Vote for as many options as you'd like.
I make no promises (I'm looking at you Spelljammer fans!)
Here are some more details on the options:
- Battle maps are 140ppi (pixels per inch). Most of my existing maps are like this. They are "standard" resolution, but the high detail limits how large of an area I can draw (and that you can load into a VTT).
- Area maps could be 70ppi or lower. Think of the full color maps you find in some Wizards of the Coasts books (like Tomb of Annihilation or Curse of Strahd). These maps cover a much larger area, but wouldn't have the same level of detail when zoomed into one 5ft square.
- City/Settlement Maps are even larger scale, and would cover whole cities like Tortuga, Barbados, Jungle settlements, Atlantis, El Dorado, Etc.
- Dungeon Maps really just means "interior" maps. This could be temples, caves, hideouts, etc.
- "Scene Art" or "Splash Art" are side view illustrations of existing maps as well as generic locations like the captains cabin, a ship's deck, the jungle, a jail, etc. These are useful for roleplaying and theater-of-the-mind style games. You see these used in the Pirate Borg Alchemy RPG module. Cze & Peku just did a poll about this, and we've been thinking about doing more since I made some for Pirate Borg - now seems like a good time to ask.
- Asset Packs for Making Your Own Maps is basically the Prop Emporium, but expanded and with map creation as a focus. For example a "shanty town" pack might have shacks, tarps, barrels, tents, etc.
The other options should be self explanatory!

I joined to get access to the ship tokens that would work with "The Naval Code" in Foundry VTT. I would love more ships especially of the larger and smaller sizes.

2022-12-12 06:37:51 +0000 UTCShip maps are always useful for my campaign. My players would love to be able to customize/upgrade the layout of their own ship. I.e. add or remove rooms and quarters mostly; and add, change or remove figureheads. Variants of ships showing battle damage would be cool too. Also, anytime my party takes a ship they want to explore the decks. Multiple deck ship maps are always appreciated.

2022-11-02 16:41:32 +0000 UTCThe whole idea with larger maps is that they would be MUCH larger, so there would not be a 140ppi variant

2022-11-01 23:04:36 +0000 UTCThat is a shame cause I am absolutely loving the pirate borg pdf. You guys put out a good product and while my first pirate borg session was a little rough, my players are interested in keeping up with the adventure. I look forward to having the physical book as well. Thank you guys. You're work is appreciated.

2022-11-01 23:01:53 +0000 UTCSadly sounds like Skeleton Point and the Tokens aren't very popular options. Maybe once people get their books they will want more content to use with Skeleton Point.

2022-11-01 22:26:26 +0000 UTCAll our Foundry Modules are built with WEBPs instead of JPEGs.

2022-11-01 22:24:36 +0000 UTCSome good ideas in here. I could always use more Spelljammer content! For the larger maps you specify 70px per inch or less. Would this be because it would be too difficult to create larger maps in a higher resolution or because you think that the size might make the filesize too big for VTTs? I will say that I convert almost every map I find on the internet into a .webp and have gotten pretty HUGE maps to stay under 2 mb. So if you do make larger maps, I hope you can release a high resolution variant. 140 px or more.

2022-10-29 14:33:24 +0000 UTCI know top down tokens are probably out at this point in the poll, but I do like the idea of having city maps for places like Atlantis, el dorado and Barbados. Looking forward to more skeleton point maps as well.

2022-10-28 15:58:19 +0000 UTCI am running on FVTT so I only struggle with high 5 figures; I prefer webP formats as it's lighter and faster; I'm aiming to start a very sci-fi campaign soon so any maps or tokens to help with that would be appreciated.

2022-10-28 11:29:45 +0000 UTCCaves = Dungeons, nearly every island in the West Indies has a cave or caves. Some are pretty substantial in size. It just adds that dimension to the islands with out forcing it. Now my imagination is running away with what is in those caves ? I can tell you what is on Rum Cay - LOL

2022-10-27 22:11:09 +0000 UTCShipwreck City and pirate hideout are some of the best I’ve ever seen. For the love of god vote battlemaps!!!!!!!!!!!

2022-10-27 22:11:03 +0000 UTCWhat about a series of Mad Max style land ships? You could skin them as (1) future dystopia, (2) fantasy, (3) sci-fi, (4) descent into Avernus , (5) jungle caravan, (6) grim dark, etc...

2022-10-27 22:09:25 +0000 UTCIs there any plans/options to convert your ruleset to PF2E?
2022-10-27 21:56:21 +0000 UTCOh there's so many things! Thanks for letting us vote multiple times! I think for me, while *ALL* the Naval and Pirate Borg content would be great, I can make do with what I have already. More is nicer - but not necessary. For me Scene or Splash art would be most appreciated! I've gotten more into using it for the moments in between battles. Mostly I hate watching tokens move around a screen when there's not anything for them to interact with. So I try to find art for those Theater of the Mind moments between fights (when the battlemaps come out)
