The Neverwhere Tales Q&A - your questions

Hey everyone,

I've seen other developers doing Q&As, and some even do it pretty regularly.
So why not try it myself and see how that goes :-)

The first part will be collecting the questions (Duh!) and depending on how many there will be, I'll pick a bunch of them to answer (and keep the remaining ones for possible future Q&As). If there will come up questions, that is... ;-)

To ask your questions, you can either use the comment function here or the corresponding channel on Discord.

There are no limitations for the questions (for now) but limitations might apply to the answers. I won't answer any questions where the answer would contain spoilers.

Cheers,
Ceo

I'm late, but I definitely have questions! I realize this may veer into spoiler territory if we're meant to learn these sort of things in good time, but I'll kick myself if they could have been answered and I talked myself out of asking. 1. What do the Templars actually do? They style themselves the "shield of humanity," but so far the only thing we've heard of them doing is preventing a Neverwhere drug from being distributed on Earth. What do they consider 'humanity' and what threats do they consider it their mandate to shield againt? 2. Possibly related to Question 1, but what brings the Templars and Alfar into contact often enough for a war to be feasible? I get there's bad history between them, but with the Alfar seeming to be fairly reclusive (and at least partially tethered to their homeworld) and the Templars seeming to keep a relatively low profile these days, I'd think the two groups wouldn't interact enough for any grievances to escalate. Is this a case of hardliners in either faction being *really* agitated, or do the two groups encounter each other in day-to-day operations more often than we've seen thus far? 3. Ailill says he has had over 900 years practice using a bow, but we're also told he was alive during Ponce de Leon's attempt to colonize Alfheimr. That occurred around 500 years ago on Earth, which would be the equivalent of ~3500 earth-years ago in Alfheimr's subjective timeline. Does this mean archery is a fairly recent hobby for Ailill, or has he somehow spent the bulk of his time outside Alfheimr despite being over 900 years old?

Impracticality

I don't have any question for you but I want to thank you for your fabulous work and story. Love it.

MAK

So far, almost every single question that's come to mind feels far too spoilery... Do you have plans for the number of chapters in book 1 or how many books it will eventually be? Or, is it still loose for now?

RouxTheDay

How long have you been working on the story? Probably quite some time before we saw the first release, right? And if you want to expand on that, could you tell us a bit about how it came to life? What inspired you?
