Dev Update - 2023/11/03

Hey everyone,

This week has been really busy with real-life stuff. And it'll continue through the upcoming weekend (the reason why this update is 'early').
I try to squeeze in work on TNT as much as possible but being away several days from home and the PC surely takes its toll.
It won't affect my plan for the release of Chapter 4, though. It "just" means that the numbers this week and next week will be lower than previous weeks.
And since that's not enough, I updated DAZ to version 4.22 on Wednesday.
Those who are even remotely familiar with the software will facepalm at this point, and rightfully so. ;-)
For those who are not: DAZ seems to always mess up their releases. They always break shit and take months to fix the new version.
I let myself be tempted by the faster asset loading, fewer loading errors, and some nice changes to lighting, and updated my version. Usually, I avoid that like the plague.
While all the points are true, the problem was that the new version wouldn't render the scene I was working on anymore. DAZ just crashed there. Downgrading to the older version? Not intended by DAZ. You can't get older versions from them.
Luckily a friend hopped in who still had the 4.21 installer and sent it to me.
So it just took me several hours in an already busy week to fix the damn software.
Lesson learned (again)!

Enough of the rant and whining, there was still some progress this week.
Given the circumstances, it's even better than I expected. I finished a part of the finale I was looking forward to for a while now because it shows a pretty important part of Jessica's personality.

On another note: I got the first pieces of commissioned music for The Neverwhere Tales.
You may have already heard one of them, it's the music I used for the trailer.
Those pieces cost me roughly double the money I made through Patreon since I started.

In other words: Every single Cent you supported here went directly back into the game.
Without you guys that wouldn't have been possible, so a huge THANK YOU from my side.

To finish this long-ass Dev Log, the numbers for this week:
70 more static renders for a total of 1320
~200 more lines in the script file for a total of 3854

Have a nice weekend, guys, I'll "enjoy" my weekend spending hours on the highways and a family celebration...

Cheers,
Ceolag
