Sept. 2020 Update (Text Dump)

Now that we've reached 60 patrons and nearly $300 per month (before taxes and Patreon's cut), I thought now would be a good time to let you know what we're putting your contributions toward. We want to be as transparent as possible so you know it's money well spent.

What we've spent it on.

Firstly, since we publicly launched our Patreon one year ago, you all have contributed $1762.72!!!! THANK YOU so much. This has given us more freedom to use our local recording studio without having to worry about timing with paychecks, and helped ep.8 and ep.9 of MSAGW come out sooner.

But it's also allowed us to invest in our home recording equipment. Using your donations, we were able to get two microphones of the same quality as our rental studio as well as stands and pop filters. We also invested in three used webcams and some computer parts to fix up my old PC, add a capture card, and hook it up in our living room. This is all so we can eventually record our scripted shows at home to more easily schedule/save money, as well as stream and make live action skits in the future.

So what's next?

In the immediate sense, we'll continue using funds to rent our local recording studio for MSAGW and Goku Time. This typically costs $100 for three hours, and we usually use 12ish hours of recordings and rerecordings per episode. We do this to keep the quality professional-sounding. But we'll be looking into how to use soundproofing in our home so we can match that quality without paying so much every time. Right now, there's no room to do so, but we might find a way around that.

I'm also currently in the process of making our official website. There, we'll host backups of our videos (in case Youtube does an accidental takedown again), offer blogs from the team, give detailed cast lists and contact information, and more. We want to have an area where we can easily share small extra content like deleted scenes, concept videos and the like without blowing up subscribers' feeds. 

Further in the future...

By next year, we want to expand our editing and writing talent, with the possibility of hiring someone to the team. If we do, Patreon funds will be used to pay for their services. This will be an effort to make a stricter schedule of producing content for you all, as right now Blue and Grey are the only two doing any editing and scripting. When we're busy or uninspired, there's a lull in content. We want to correct that.
