2025-06-09 23:46:48 +0000 UTCWell said, though I'd add Khan was looking for the word "schizophrenic" which a totally different disorder but I think Harumi has it too, cuz individuals with DID generally hold a grasp on reality, even when experiencing multiple identities. But with schizophrenia individuals may not be able to distinguish between real and imagined experiences, which is something Harumi also hinted at with not knowing "what's real or not". Never thought I'd be tryna throw diagnosis in Khan's comment section lol

2025-06-09 22:01:47 +0000 UTCFor the sake of enlightening people who don't know, Harumi suffers from DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder), a condition that is scarily as real as this episode portrays it. Some people have even more personalities than Harumi did, ranging on average between 10-20, though some have far exceeded that supposedly such as in the case of Richard Kluft which recorded approximately 4,500 individual identities. Sadly like Harumi it's extremely difficult to be open about it with people and for them to understand it and also unfortunately the condition has been mimicked by others trying to vie for attention, making it hard at times to truly discern the truth of a case. It's a shame that most people haven't seen this anime because like you said, it's very surreal and different which for a mainstream audience can be very off putting. What starts as a mystery anime has quickly become an in depth and surreal psychological series. Really hoping this starts a trend of you watching more cerebral and mature shows consistently alongside the fun shows, really helps to leave a resonating and profound message after you've finished it. Maybe it's worth when doing future polls doing a "losers" poll afterwards of the like 5 or so of the lowest voted series so that series like this have more of a chance beyond tier 3, would love to see it.
