Easy 10. Anything below an 8 is just nonsensical. Most of the people rating it lower say stuff like "it was different than the manga" or "(blank) could have been better" such as fights or music. #1 - it was never going to be a 1:1 with the manga so using that excuse to rate is lower is just plain stupid honestly. That's your issue, not the shows. They told you before it even released what to expect. And on top of that, it's just impossible to make a 1:1 copy of it anyway, so rating it lower because it can't do the literal impossible is straight stupidity and I don't take those criticisms seriously. #2 - for those saying "music" or "fights" could have been better. For music? No lol. It was perfectly done. OSTs were phenomenal and they had the right music and vibe for every moment in the show. As for fights, yea they maybe COULD have been better, but it objectively wasn't bad the way it was. And since it wasn't bad, taking away more than 2 points off the rating is ridiculous. The fights were not soo bad to point of giving the show a 7 or lower. Besides these two criticisms I always see, everything else was perfection. So 8 is the lowest score it should get, even though my personal score is a 10 as I think it was basically as perfect as a One Piece live action adaptation could be.

2023-12-25 10:41:30 +0000 UTCI haven't watched other Live Actions to make a comparison, but I didn't like that they altered the story, included some lines that weren't said in the Manga, excluded some main characters like Hachi and the three 'Usopp's pirates,' and the pursuit by Garp early on. Also, I didn't like the way it concluded! Garp appeared at the right moment in the story, talking about Dragon, but that's from my perspective as someone who knows the story. For someone unfamiliar with it, I think they did a good job!

2023-12-22 19:05:25 +0000 UTCI’d give it a 7.5 leaning closer to a 7. I thought the story they decided to adapt worked great. It did take a few episodes to get used to their versions of the characters we know and love, but after taking it in as a new version of the story, I was able to enjoy it more. My biggest critiques are 1.) the music and 2.) Luffy being physically weak. 1.) The music felt too much like every other Netflix show you see nowadays that gets canceled after 2 seasons. It didn’t feel like One Piece. 2.) I know Luffy’s fighting style is almost never “go all-out right away”, but he got his shit rocked by almost every villain in the live action. At least in the anime the main villain fights were delayed due to Luffy being away from the fight: i.e. Jango hypnotizing him and he slept at the bottom of the cliff, or going for a walk/getting trapped under water at Arlong Park. In the live action, Luffy directly admits he’s weaker than Arlong. Aside from those few things, I had a great time watching it on my own, discussing it with my friends, and seeing content creators I enjoy experiencing the story in a new way. Looking forward to season 2!

2023-12-22 07:27:21 +0000 UTC6/10 it was good but could've been way better if they put more money into CGI and better fight scenes, but it's comprehensible since no live action before had any success so they played it safe and that's fair, if they up it one notch and make chopper right with CGI then it's gonna be hard to beat for future live actions of other series

2023-12-22 00:01:55 +0000 UTCIt was close to a ten, they got some fantastic actors I think Garp was alright/great, but maybe they should have accentuated his " I do what i want" even more to reflect Mihawk position in episode 6, Garp is the wild card of the Marine, I wish they'd show that more, especially when his next appearance is to be the massive lore/exposition of the OP world An another problem for me was pacing ( more like scenes being dragged out) like at the very end of Mihawk vs Zoro where the shot of the crew waiting fort the final blow to come or the iconic Luffy/Nami hat scene that could have been sped up Anyway: Action : 9/10 Actors: 9/10 OSTs : 10/10 Change from the source materials : 8/10 Visuals : 9/10
