I can't entirely agree with you saying that he did not change (because he punched that farmer). In my opinion, he has changed dramatically. In the beginning, I did not even recognize him not just physically but how he behaved so calmly compared to before, his demeanor, aura, and reactions to everything completely changed. He was so rational with Einar and persisted in calming him down, which I never thought in my life I would see Thorfinn doing to anybody. Even Einar said nobody would even THINK you were on the battlefield for 11 years because he does not give off that aura anymore due to how calm he is in responding to day-to-day things, and even Thorfinn himself had not realized that yet XD. you said it made him a "weakling," but I don't think that's the right word. I believe the right word for him is that he is now a "normal" person, which is crazy for me to even say about Thorfinn. I believe the great change that he will have in the future (and has shown in this episode) is that from now on, he will not fight for revenge but for his friend(s), and that is why he punched the farmer because he insulted his only friend and that is the best reason to punch somebody XD. I know it is a long comment, but the moral of the story is that he has definitely changed XD. wishing you the best from your biggest fan all the way from Kuwait
