Viz would just cause more confusions in the future, though much preferable if he just read both :/

Like "give up the ghost" and "weaned off your mother's milk". Also the scan quality of tcb is worse than Viz. He already has trouble making out the official scans as it is, the inferior scans is gonna make it even worse for him.

2023-02-08 12:42:00 +0000 UTCThe official translation is more accurate with the original wording of Oda. Personally I would imagine Oda chose the wording for a reason, but who knows. I'd imagine if Oda wanted to specify he would have said information or clues, instead of leaving it ambiguous. The fan translation however does here what it often does, which is to give their interpretation of Oda's wording, instead of making an awkardish direct translation. Ultimately I don't mind which one you prefer, I'm not sure myself, but just keep it in mind that the official has reasons for choosing sometimes the "weirder" or more ambiguous wording. One example that comes to mind is that the fan translatation used to call the last island "Raftel.", and it was a common thing to make fun of the official for using "Laugh Tale.". Obviously that didn't age well.

It is as correct as can be. Some things maybe strange - e.g. the One Piece part at the end - but as long as we don't know what the One Piece really is who are we to judge about the correctness of the translation as of yet? He should stick with the official one imo

Having Big Mom know something that has not been known or revealed so far in the story as she is falling down the pit to her defeat with zero explanation of how she knows that seems like extremely bad writing to me. If she's not referring to the poneglyphs then she's referring to the ancient weapon or something along those lines. Having "One Piece" located in Wano is just too random and unexplainable for the timing in the story. Now maybe it is, or some part of it, but the original Japanese text doesn't say that, and it's not evident at this point, so I'll stand by my original point. As I said, happy to disagree on this. I also think it's too vague to be worth speculating anything beyond that at this point.

So why would she be talking asking “is it here?” To Roger in a monologue. It’s much more grandiose and complicated than that. Everyone knows Kaido has one of the ponyglyphs

A popular fan theory says the One Piece has smth to do with the destruction of the Red Line. Thus that "smth" under Wano could be needed - so it could be a part of the One Piece.

They were both needed in order to defeat big mom. I'm just saying Law did more work than kidd. Law was playing both support and frontline while kidd was just brute strength. I know people love kidd because Oda set him up to be a rival for Luffy, but Kidd did not do anything special in wano lol. Kidd did some work i won't deny that, but Law carried most of the fight. I'm glad khan saw it that way too. Hopefully Oda doesn't forget Kidd in the upcoming final arc. We need to see more of him mastering conqueror's haki

I would've liked to seen kidd utilize his conqueror's haki during the fight, but I guess Oda forgot about that(Not the only thing he's forgotten). Maybe we'll see more things from kidd later on, but he didn't really do anything mind blowing in Wano.
