The only thing he was incapable of doing was sealing Yamamoto's bankai. So Yama had to defeat 2 quincy kings. Yama also only had one arm, remember what happened when Kenpachi used two? Imagine Yama. In the end, because of the death of his closest friend and subordinate, along with the killing if so many soul reapers, Yamamoto let rage take over and wasn't careful when he fought. He went all out, because he was mourning his friend. Yhwach took advantage of this to trick him. tl;dr - YAMA WAS STRONG, HE WAS THE GOAT

2022-11-15 21:52:57 +0000 UTCThis episode was amazing, i'm so glad they finally animated the 2nd best part of this arc and it didn't disappoint. the way they removed all the flames; the sound effects was on some jojo level stuff, and the animation how it all went clear as day was crazy. The flame armour when he did the north slash was absolutely insane. as expected from the animators, it's a shame that they sacrificed even more what little story this arc has as they completely cut off sternritter Y backstory so we can have a further understanding of the sternritter characters, the backstory even further clarified the sternritter's powers. but at least we got the conversation with Aizen, although it barely added much. definitely one of the better episodes of the year with One Piece episode 1015 being number 1 (1015 reaction was better too obviously).

Yama burned the 3 sternritters who tried to attack him from behind with just his fire. Also to note, this imposter is quite strong it seems, remember he effortlessly defeated Kenpachi at the start of the episode (and Kenpachi defeated 3 other sternritters before this)>
