That's why ppl are talking about putting less emphasis on ft instead of him doing both simultaneously. Because, you can definitely put a finger on when bleach is releasing so you have a clear idea of how much tim eyou have to get caught up. Where as ft, it's not clear when so there isn't as much incentive to emphasize it on what he watches. Also the fact that he is just enjoying bleach more atm, so you don't want half-assed ft reactions where he is wishing he did bleach instead.

The first wound in episode thirty eight alone was enough on its own to kill him where it not for the old man. The last attack looks even worse. Kenpachi had more cuts in him, sure, but they were mostly superficial (the one in his chest and sides). Now, Ichigo fell first, but Kenpachi had his sword broken. Then again, so did Ichigo at some point during this fight so... Bit tricky to say who won, or if anyone won at all.
