Pillar Print
Added 2019-10-22 19:38:33 +0000 UTCi believe this might be my final kny print (maybe even final print in general) for animenyc2019! i'm really fond of how it turned out, it was really tricky but really worth it in the end. ;__;
i showed off the sketch on here awhile back and aside from some tweaking/placement changes it pretty much stayed the same! originally i wanted to keep it very simple and try single colors for each box/hashira and strong inks with some screentone. kinda like an official print you might see in a hot topic or something LOL.
i actually had about 70% of the print inked before i took a break for a few weeks, came back and realized it was kinda ugly LOL. but i was getting back into doing palette art so i figured i could do that instead!
i think this might've been one of the hardest prints i've done this year (so far ;__; ?) because i not only had to come up with palettes, but i had to make sure they were palettes that wouldn't be absolutely ruined by cmyk when i'd have to get them printed. i know the print probably says differently but i'm actually really bad at picking colors! so it was a whole headache and a half trying to make it work!
i almost gave up several times because i have a nasty habit of trying to overcomplicate things...i wanted a lot of textures and i ended up downloading a bunch of brushes before i kinda realized that if i added too much to a simple composition it ends up making the whole pic look messy....
all in all though i think it looks good!
