Update
Added 2020-03-06 16:11:14 +0000 UTCHello Patrons,
Well aonprd still haven't got Gods and Magic up on their site, and the Gamesmastery Guide isn't out in the UK until 10th March, so I've been working on the PC version of Pathbuilder 2e.
I ran into some pretty tricky technical issues with it, and it looked like I was going to need separate apps for win64, win32, mac etc etc so I started to explore making a web app version which would run on anything.
That's gone fairly well, and I've got a working alpha test going. I'm going to say up front that I'm going to run it as a cheap subscription service (a couple of dollars a month), as I don't want to be lumbered with server costs and I do need to make a living out of my work. I'm still planning to add all the features that I was planning to add to the PC version (gm tools etc). It's going to be free to use all the way through development until I'm definitely sure that its working fine. The backend is a spring boot app using the same java that the android app uses, and I made the front end with Angular 9.
As with any project at this stage, its not optimised (early optimisation is the root of all evil). It seems to run fine on my pc, runs ok on ipad (safari not firefox), fine on android tablet and like dogshit on my android phone.
Edit: Its probably not working on IOS at the moment, until I get some ios specific security issues resolved.
Next week, first I'll try to add the much asked mortal usher to pathbuilder 1e, and then the gamesmastery guide will be out in the uk. I do plan to add dual classing, but can't commit to other optional rules (definite no to the Alternative Scores variant rules).
Have a good weekend!
Dave
Edit: by the way, I fully intend to continue supporting the android app - that's the whole reason why the web app is set up this way with a java backend!

Alas no. I'm still finishing off Starbuilder. Hopefully get the last bit of that done this week and then get it out of early access, then I can return to thinking about a web version of pathbuilder 2e. It's months of work though, and I still haven't settled in my mind how to go about it.

2020-11-03 01:21:03 +0000 UTCMaybe. It's going to be a different economic climate for the next couple of years for sure. I need to think about future plans.
