Added 2024-11-29 20:05:30 +0000 UTCMike Kelley is an artist whose work I love. Here is some information about the exhibition I saw. One of the main things in the exhibition was these old American yearbook photos that he had re-staged and tried to recreate accurately.
His reason for doing this was that the yearbook photos and costumes represented like, a kind of american folk art documentation. I am making a painting based on my favorite out of them (Extracurricular Activity Projective Reconstruction #10 (Group Portrait) ). I usually don't do a lot of preparation or studies before painting, but this one is important.

New dana painting
Pinky and Pepper by Eddy Atoms is being reprinted with lots of new and exciting pages. I was asked to contribute, so I did this painting based on the painting 'Dante and Virgil Encountering the Shades of Francesca de Rimini and Paolo in the Underworld' by Ary Scheffer. The creature in the bottom left is a Hieronymous Bosch hell creature.
