 a new engine concept i have for you. Made especially for heavy duty vehicle like heavy hauling trucks and tanks that need to work on low quality fuel 80 octane in this case for military use and be easy to maintenance, so this will be a little bit of a challenge and at the same time it need to be fuel efficient and powerful so maximum engine size will be 6.2 liter. with or without turbos, ( don`t care how many cylinders you are using in total )  depending on how much of a maintenance cost you want it to end at. in this case it need to be as low as possibly and should have at least 400 hp and at least 380 NM of torque. now for the military`s restriction for this engine: 1: maximum size is 6.2 liters, 2: should be as simple as possible to fix in the field ( no vvt or vvl ), 3: reliability more than 50%, 4: 4000 rpm limit, 5: direct injection is a must to lower the smoke emitted from the engine, 6: need to be able to be mounted in transverse also as inline. now the expectations from the military: 1: need at least 400hp and 380nm of torque, 2: can`t cost more the 2000 dollars a year in service costs, 3: need to go at least 35+ mpg, 4: military prefer 6 or 8 cylinders with or without turbo, 5: can`t weight more than 250 kg, 6: military pays good money for good quality engines so the better the quality the more cash will the seller get per each unit, 7: make it quieter than a normal diesel truck engine but not so quite that the engine loose power, 8: catalytic converter is a must do the year is 2018, 9: reliability needs to be more than 60%, 10: recommendation use light weight parts but at the same time strong parts because if you can get it up to 800-1200 hp the military will be very pleased because then the tanks can use this new engine. make this a little bit of a story where your company meet a captain in the army sort of story, leaving the rest to you good luck!
