Hallo lovely people. Thankyou everyone who sent birthday wishes and all of you who didn’t, also Thankyou for being here and reading this.
I’m currently writing jokes for the news quiz and trying not to let the real news and chaos of the world invade my little birthday bubble of family and love too much. I’ve spent the past few days looking after my little niece while my twin and his wife are on holiday, and it’s been all consuming and lovely. Then they came to pick her up and we had birthday tea and cake and just all in all, it’s been a beautiful and relaxing day.
I always have my birthday in my head as the beginning of the year - the end of that doldrums period that runs between Christmas and the 7th Jan, and particularly this year, after finishing the last post I was happy to just drift and spend a little time getting my habits in order for the new year.
I want to spend more time and energy staying in touch with people I love - there are many beloved friends who loom large in past phases of my life that I’ve let float away, in the day to day business of replying to important emails and doing important work. If I have to make a spreadsheet and schedule time to work on remaking those connections, I will. It’s the only way of doing it when travel isn’t an option and you don’t usually just bump into people any more.
I will do a solo Tea With Alice tomorrow and put it out, but I won’t be having a salon next week. The week after will be Australia time and then U.K., then US, then a week off as usual. I’ve really enjoyed doing the salons and talking to you. It’s been really wonderful figuring out how to make it work.
I’m also always on a mission to make this better for you, so let me know what I can do for you, too.
Xxx

As always, the best thing you can do is share things you like with people who might like them, so feel free to pass my work around.
