It's clear that your idea of a Free Market of Ideas is not, and never will be, properly free. It's a lovely ideal, however looking at the direction of travel with bot-managed Twitterganda, ( not even good old-fashioned Properganda ), etc., and the control of Print Media by a monied Few, we have a very difficult issue. The most difficult of all is the personalised messaging/targeting. The old-fashioned political theory is that there is public debate, and if one side lies, the other side calls them out. But if you can't see what has been put in front of the target swing-voters, and you don't know who they are, then there is ZERO opportunity to refute or debate. So it becomes a battle for the biggest echo chamber, where the choice of which echo chamber you attach yourself to, is made way in advance of any sensible discussion. After that it's too late and the targeted spin will polarise your view. Comments?
