New Teacast: Alice Fraser Solo

This week, I sit alone in a room with a cuppa, talking to the void.

Here you go: http://apple.co/2oyL7Vy

We discuss modular identities, why "whatabouting" depletes empathy, the night I hung out by a fridge with Alan Cumming and whether we're more than the sum of our parts.

This was a strange experiment. Let me know if you enjoyed it or not!

Chiz!

Thanks! The podcast will launch in September and will finish recording just before I leave Aus so it should be fine. I'm thinking of making a once a month solo, given that I've had such good feedback from the experiment

I really enjoyed this. I thought you did really well sitting in a room on your own talking. Lots and lots to love. I really enjoyed your preamble - you hit a LOT of topics I don't just relate to but have experience of - corporate anxiety, lack of sleep, packing up a family home. And a phrase you used later re: going out with Allan Cumming and his friends, "I haven't gone out much since my Mum died" - hit me straight between the eyes (yep, same here). You asked how much to hassle people and whether folks are interested in what you're doing, well ... we wouldn't be very good fans if we weren't interested :-) I though the two big ideas you introduced were very eloquently put and thought they were very fair points. And finally on your new podcast (is it wise to be launching something new so soon after the Edinburgh Festival?) then it might be worth catching up with Katherine Ryan. She makes a feature in her show about all the abuse she gets - it's not in her Netflix special (Katherine Ryan In Trouble) but when I saw her show in 2015 I was quite stunned. She was taking the mickey out of the stuff she was getting, and brushed it all off with the phrase, "I ran out of fucks to give a long time". Anyway, just a thought. Fab podcast Ma'am.
