So I've had my first TV special. (There's an arrogance for you, making the assumption that I'll get more work from here, and that the creative career is a linear progression).
I'm feeling very glamorous in my birthday-present-bathrobe, and I'm replying to lots of (so far) very nice messages, so I'm half waiting for the other shoe to drop, but mainly grinning like a fool.
So far all the comments I've got have been very positive, which is lovely. I imagine that can't last but we'll keep our fingers crossed.
I really appreciate it when people take the time to contact me - it's so strange putting words out into the void, and it's lovely to get a voice back.
I feel like the message of The Resistance is relatively timely, given the fear and sense of helplessness that's out in the world. Doing the good we can, in the face of hardship and damage. That. Yes.
Now for me work-wise, I'm not sure. It's strange for a mostly live performer to feel a completed piece still operating out in the world.
I will try to reply to everyone, brush off the flack when it comes, and keep working on the new live show, Empire, putting out the Podcast and writing my SBS articles.
If you feel like sharing me around, it's up on iview now so anyone in Aus can watch it on demand. http://ab.co/2jAebeH
