This was an interesting conversation. We began by talking about insomnia and music, and ended by talking about death and art - it's odd to find myself sometimes saying things that are... not quite cliche, but close to it.
Having visceral personal realisations of things that are commonplace, like the way grief can be incohate and overpowering, like a sucking wound somewhere you can't touch, but that using art to touch it obliquely gives you some sense of ease. So, art and death.
