Hey Punks
I am back in Sydney for a few days, doing my show at the Enmore Theatre. It feels like nothing special until I see the water and then every time I catch a glimpse of it, it feels like home.
New podcast for this week is out, with Osher Günsberg. It was a really interesting chat, talking to someone who has so many years of broadcasting and presenting experience that he'd have the skills to give or withhold anything. It felt like he made a deliberate effort to be present and open and to let me control the conversation, which I appreciated.
We then immediately switched recorders and followed up the Teacast with a conversation for his podcast. That was a fascinating thing to do. Two people talking casually across a table, sliding from one kind of conversation to another - that they were such incredibly different conversations without feeling at all inauthentic or artificial was something. I don't know what it was exactly... expansive? inspiring? It was definitely very cool and fascinating.
Anyway, have a listen of it - or hold out til Osher's podcast comes out and listen to them back to back as they were recorded (his has a bit of a delay between record and release because he has a producer, which is an amazingly exciting idea, and if I build up enough regular income on this podcast, I may get for the Teacast... Or maybe I should keep it as a one-man-show. What'd you reckon?)
Shows in Sydney are going well, though tonight I have the exciting experience of doing the show for some fancy television people AND MY DAD. So that'll be an experience. How many swear-words are in my show? How many are as funny and clever as I think they are? Is 'junk' a decent substitute for c*#t? in a song about it?
Chiz!
