Feeling old yet? The Powerpuff Girls premiered twenty years ago on November 18th, 1998.

I certainly grew up with this series, and at that time I was "wow, a dude did this girly, superheroiney show, so it's okay for me to enjoy it, damned to those to say otherwise."

Which pretty much became how I lived. I enjoyed things on my own terms, never letting the opinions of others shake-up what I did. Plus, c'mon. They were so cool.

For this commemorative piece, I went back to the roots of how the trio are drawn. There are the original model sheets easily found online, so I picked those up and got to work.

Pretty sure the last time I did the girls like that was with my early days fanarting with Illustrator. These were lined in Illustrator and coloured in in Photoshop. Terrible.

I do not speak of the travesty that is the reboot, not even the one with Ringo Freaking Starr. The show ended ten years ago with its 10th Anniversary Special, which was gold. I will not take questions.
